Middlesex Athletics October 28-November 2, 2024


Middlesex County Public Schools will hold an important drug awareness presentation, Silent No More, for students in grades 7 through 12 on Monday, November 4 during the school day. This impactful program is designed to educate students about the dangers of opioids and other harmful drugs while highlighting current drug trends.
Silent No More features emotional testimonials from families affected by overdose, clips from the documentary Chasing the Dragon, and expert insights from a DEA agent on fentanyl and counterfeit drugs. The event also includes presentations from a federal prosecutor and Dr. Denise Lester, an addiction medicine specialist, along with a recovery speaker who will share their personal story of overcoming substance use disorder.
A presentation for parents, guardians, and community members will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Clare Walker Middle School Auditorium on Monday, November 4. This event is part of the district’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and promote prevention in the fight against the opioid crisis. David Moore, a 7th Grade Science Teacher at St. Clare Walker Middle School, has done a fantastic job coordinating boat trips on the Chesapeake Bay for our students. These experiences enhance students' understanding of the ecosystem and foster a love for the environment.


MHS 10th Grade Student, Sienna Bednarczyk, is shown below at her internship with CiCi's Pet Grooming. Thank you, CiCi's for this collaboration to provide Sienna with this hands-on experience!


Today, St. Clare Walker Middle School students experienced the SCW Reality Store. Students were given a career and a family size to take into consideration while shopping for monthly expenses. Volunteers from local community partners worked with students to make financial decisions to help them be successful. Students were shocked to see the costs of essential utilities that took away from their entertainment costs.
