Muy impresionante!

Dear Middlesex Families, Caregivers, and Staff,
As we approach the holiday season, a time filled with both joy and unique challenges, we are excited to share an invaluable resource that reflects Middlesex County Public Schools' culture of care and commitment to the whole child.
This Parent Guidance Coaching micro-tutorial video is designed to inspire and empower us all—families, caregivers, and educators alike—by providing tools to navigate the holidays with greater balance and well-being. It’s a reminder that by supporting one another, we strengthen the vibrant community that makes Middlesex so special.

Our collective dedication to wellness is a cornerstone of our strategic plan to provide a safe and supportive school community. Sharing resources like these helps de-stigmatize conversations around mental health while bringing the gift of hope to those who may be feeling vulnerable this season. Just one family sharing this with another can spark a wave of connection and care across our community.
Together, we can ensure MCPS continues to shine as a place where every child, family, and staff member is nurtured and supported—a place to develop into confident, passionate, and responsible citizens. Wishing you peace, joy, and strength this holiday season.
Warm Regards,
MCPS School Board Office

Fifth grade students enjoyed their final Friendsgiving meal at MES. Many thanks to the Nutrition Department and the cafeteria monitors who made this a memorable experience.

Second and fourth grade students have been exploring the "Natural History of Early Virginia" Discovery Box sponsored by the Virginia Living Museum. This "museum in a trunk" is a traveling curriculum with natural items used for survival by Virginia Native Americans and Jamestown settlers. The box also includes other items such as food, jewelry, music, toys, and items for trade. Students are active and engaged in this hand-on learning experience.

MCPS was well represented by K-Kids and staff during the Urbanna Christmas Parade. Congrats on nabbing first place in the 'Specialty' category!
Oh what fun, it is to ride on a bus in a parade! Hey!

Great job by MES music teacher Ashley Turner and the fourth and fifth grade choir during their recent holiday performance!

Ms. Sayegh brought our 4th-grade "Blood on the River" unit to life with an exciting and interactive experience! She arranged a live Q&A with the author, Elisa Carbone, where students shared questions and comments. By the end of the session, the kids were buzzing with excitement and eager to dive into her next book about Jamestown. What an inspiring and unforgettable experience!
