Study Soup launched the StudySoup peer-to-peer learning marketplace in 2014, and now we are announcing our new Future Innovator Scholarship Program. When we were in school, we found that success in the classroom can be a pretty ambiguous thing. Every class has hours of lectures and dozens of readings. Come midterm time, most students are overwhelmed and have no idea how they should study. Without fail, however, there are always a few top students in the class who know exactly what it takes to be successful. We decided to empower those top students to help their peers, and make money, by posting their best study materials to StudySoup.com.

www.studentscholarships.org has a list of 9 Scholarship Programs that will give out more than 1 Million dollars to students in 2016. Students from Virginia school districts are eligible for all the awards.

Scholarship resources for minority students

African-American Grants The nonprofit group Demos recently reported that 84% of African American students used Pell Grants to finance their education and graduated with debt, compared to just 60% of white students. With both segments of students enrolling in college at similar rates, it's alarming that African American students receive significantly less funding than their white counterparts.

To help bridge this funding gap, our college planning experts at OEDB.org developed a list of scholarships and grants specifically for African American students. We provide context for how students can best take advantage of available resources while offering a listing of 15 scholarship and grant opportunities.

CollegeScholarships.org has helped students find financial aid since 1999 and recently launched an interactive searchable database listing over 23,000 financial aid programs.

Scholarships at The Community Foundation TCF's searchable database offers more than 60 scholarship opportunities for students living in the Central Virginia region. Our database allows you to enter specific criteria to narrow your search. Criteria might include your high school or area of academic interest. Or you may view an alphabetical listing of all scholarships available through The Community Foundation.

Despite our country’s ongoing economic volatility and increased college costs, the financial aid picture for minorities has never looked brighter. Currently, billions of dollars are set aside each year specifically for Asian Americans, African American, Hispanic American, and Native American students. This funding is open to minorities at any level (high school through postdoctoral) for a variety of activities including study, research, travel, training, career development and creative projects. While numerous listings provide general financial aid opportunities, there seems to be a lack of online scholarship listings specifically for minority groups. As a result, many advisors, librarians, scholars, researchers and students often have been unaware of the extensive funding opportunities available for minority groups. We wanted to change this by providing an extensive listing of scholarships exclusively for minority students on AffordableColleges.com here: http://www.affordablecolleges.com/resources/scholarships-for-minorities/
